Family to Family


One of NAMI's oldest and most helpful courses for caregivers, friends, and family members. This free twelve-week course is available twice each year, usually beginning in February and August. Among the topics covered are: diagnoses, recovery, symptoms of mental illness, medications, communication with doctors and relatives, problem solving, and advocacy. Those who have attended these classes have claimed the lessons to be life changing, eye opening, and extremely helpful

NAMI Provider Education

NAMI Provider Education is a class for line staff at facilities providing mental health treatment services. The NAMI Provider Education class is designed to expand the participants' compassion for the individuals and their families and to promote a collaborative model of care.

The Course is intended for any staff or professionals interacting with clients/families. 15 CEUs are available through SC Dept. of Mental Health.  Employees with SCDMH will have CEUs posted directly on the PATHLORE system from sign-in sheets. Other attendees will have a separate certificate mailed to them by SC Dept. of Mental Health from separate sign-in sheet information. Attendees must attend all five sessions to qualify for CEUs, the course is FREE.
